Fr. John David van Dooren is a native of North Carolina, and was graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1982) and the Virginia Theological Seminary (1987). His first field assignment was to an Anglo-Catholic parish, one of the only few in the area. There Fr. van Dooren was introduced to a spirituality that would define his eventual priesthood and lead him to a lifelong commitment to urban ministry.

President Shawn inducting six new members at the Installation Event at the Penn Club of NYC
On July 11, 2025, the Rotary Club of New York celebrated the Installation of President Shawn Jacobaccio and his board for the Rotary year 2025-2026. This represents the 117th year of the Rotary Club of New York, so named "Host Club of America" by Rotary Founder Paul Harris.
The festive event at the Penn Club of NYC showed the movement Rotary has become in this vibrant city. President Shawn mentioned the many accomplishments during this past year and also the tremendous membership growth with 30 new members joining our club.
